The value of foreign direct investment (FDI) capital in Vietnam exceeded 33 billion USD in the first 11 months of 2017. This represents a huge improvement in comparison with last year, with a y-o-y increase of 83%. Many countries invest in Vietnam and Japan still leads the way with a total investment of nearly $9 billion. Putting it in other words, Japanese investments represent 27% of total foreign investments in Vietnam. The Republic of Korea and Singapore are the two other countries completing the top 3 investors. In terms of where they invest, Ho Chi Minh City is still far ahead of Hanoi, even though Hanoi is also a great place to invest with notably tremendous economic growth.
